An Ibadan-based event planner, Mr. Adeleke Adedokun has appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates Court in Ibadan, Oyo State over alleged N1.3 million fraud.
Adedokun, 32, of No. 4, Alaro Street, Sango, Ibadan is facing a two-count charge bothering on false pretence and stealing.
Femi Omilana, the prosecutor had told the court that the suspect obtained the sum of N1.3million from one Folashade Dixen on the pretext of supplying drinks at her sister’s wedding.
Omilana said: “Adedokun failed to supply the drinks and converted the money to his use.”
The prosecutor alleged that the accused stole the money.
He added that the suspect committed the offence in September.
Omilana said the offence contravened sections 390 (9) and 419 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol.11, Law of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
But, Adedokun pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate A.O Akande then granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties.
She then adjourned the case till November 28 for hearing.
