30 people feared dead, six villages burnt down in Plateau


No fewer than 30 people were feared dead as soldiers on a revenge mission allegedly stormed Kadarko Chiefdom community of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

It was alleged that the soldiers were angered over the killing of six of their colleagues by some unknown persons.

Speaking over the attack, the traditional ruler of Tarok native in Wase Local Government Area, Chief lot Nden, who confirmed the incident, revealed that the Army came in their numbers and attacked major Taroh settlements.

Areas attacked include- Saku, Wadata Kasuwa, Wadata mission Kurmi and Kadarko town, all in Wase.

Similarly, a villager, who escaped the attack disclosed that women, children and property worth millions of naira were destroyed in Kadarko and other five villages.

He also said that the Army, who came in armoured tankers and three trucks opened fire to poor civilians from different locations.

Both the STF spokesman, capt Ikedichi Iweha and the Police PPRO Emmanuel Abuh are yet to comment on the incident.
