3 killers of Kachikwu’s uncle sentenced to death

A Delta State High Court on Thursday sentenced to death three killers of Diokpa Felix Boise, uncle of Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachukwu.
The accused, Sunday Luka (32), Danjuma Kaika (37) and Luka Agu (33), were sentenced to death by hanging after they were found guilty of killing the septuagenarian.
They were arraigned on four- count charge of conspiracy to commit murder, murder and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Justice C.I. Ogisi in ruling sentenced the first and second accused persons on all four count charge.
He, however, discharged the third accused person on count two and four but was sentenced on count one and three.
“The punishment for the offence is mandatory and the court does not have the discretionary power to mitigate the death sentence,” Justice Ogisi said.
