3,850 APC loyalists dump party for PDP in Yobe

About 3850 All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains and stalwarts from Yobe south have shifted their loyalty to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The defectors were drawn from Potiskum, Fika, Nangere and Fune Local Government Areas that formed Yobe south senatorial district.

Receiving the new entrants at the flag off of his re-election campaign in Potiskum town yesterday, Sunday, Senator representing Yobe south senatorial district, Mohammed Hassan congratulated them for taking such a wise and bold move.

He assured them of equal treatment while charging them to work hard alongside other members to ensure that the party emerges victorious in all elections in their respective areas.

“The coming election is a contest between you (the oppressed) and the oppressors,” he told the gathering.

Engineer Inusa Isah, who spoke on behalf of the defectors said lack of internal democracy and discrimination were some of the issues that compelled them to dump their former party.

He assured the leadership of PDP in the zone and the state that, they will ensure that the party succeeds in February and March elections.

Potiskum, one of the most highly densely populated towns in Yobe State yesterday went agog for their illustrious son, Senator Mohammed Hassan who came in a convoy of hundreds of vehicles with thousands of supporters to lunch his re-election campaign.
