250 APGA members join APC in Abia

About two hundred and fifty members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance from Urban ward 3 in Umuahia north local government of Abia state on Friday, dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Giving reason why they dumped APGA for APC, the leader of the APGA defectors, Mr. Divine Victor said they left their former party because of the leadership crisis in the Abia chapter of APGA.

He disclosed that they were over two hundred and fifty members of APGA defecting to APC in the state,promising on behalf of other decampees to work for the success of the party in 2019.

According to him,”Abians are yearning for change. We are tired of PDP leadership in Abia state. People cannot feed themselves anymore because of the failure of PDP-led government to provide democracy dividends to the people.

“We believe APC has what it takes to enthrone the needed change in Abia. So, we are going to work hard to ensure APC wins 2019 governorship election in the state.

Receiving the defectors to APC fold, the Abia central zonal woman leader, Lolo Josephine Chukwu assured the APGA defectors of a level playing ground and advised them to work collectively, to enable the party win the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Speaking during the event, APC stakeholder in Umuahia north local government area of Abia state, Sir Maduakolam Adighibe commended the APGA decampees for their courage to join the progressives and assured them that they would be carried along in the affairs of the party.
