In quick response, the Kaduna State Government announced a 24-hour curfew to prevent the protesters from unleashing mayhem on innocent citizens.

Rumours of the crisis started going round at about 4pm, when calls were received from loved ones, telling their people to stay in safe areas.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses said that the soldiers were seen using their trucks to convey stranded commuters to their various locations.

It is still unclear what led to the development as at time if filing this report.

More to come.
