The Adamawa State government has confirmed the viral report that the Nigerian soldiers have recovered the commercial town of Mubi from the hands of the Boko Haram insurgents.

In a follow up to the success recorded by the army, the government has therefore imposed a 24-hour curfew on the town.

While announcing the development, the Director of Public Affairs to Adamawa State governor, Mr P. P. Elisha, said the decision was necessary as it is a short term strategy to put an end to the ‘madness’ ongoing in the area.

He therefore pleaded with residents of Mubi to bear with the government, saying that as soon as peace returns to the area, the curfew will be lifted.
