23-year-old beauty queen clears air on her marriage to Hon. Rotimi Makinde

Ever since it was disclosed that the current Miss Osun state, Banke Oyelami was engaged to entertainer cum politician, Hon. Rotimi Makinde, who is in his late 40’s, many have concluded that she was engaged to him for the wrong reason, his wealth.

Reacting to widely held notion, the 23-year-old Banke had stressed that she “loves Rotimi Makinde” and not after his money as many have held.

Even though she admitted that meeting him changed her life for good, she stated that “It’s not about what he can give me. He’s very intelligent, creative and hard-working. Above all, he’s a good person, me, his children everybody around him. He wants the best for me.”

Narrating how he proposed to her, the beauty queen who is also a final year student of Political Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, in Osun State,said “when he proposed to me, I told him I was still in the university and he agreed to wait for me to finish and he has been very patient and supportive to my education.”

Banke further said “People have been saying all sorts of things since we announced our engagement but I am not bothered by the talk. I met a good man who loves me and it feels good because I have everything in him. He is a father, a brother and a friend. I feel secured because he’s a very mature and caring”
