21,947 personnel to be deployed for Kogi, Bayelsa governorship polls


The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says a total of 21,947 personnel would be deployed for the conduct of the Kogi and Bayelsa governorship elections scheduled for November 21, and Saturday December 5, respectively.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the commission said it will deploy a total of 12,120 officers for the Kogi governorship election, while 9,827 officers are to be used for the conduct of the governorship election in Bayelsa State.

Aside from the returning officer, the commission gave a breakdown of personnel to be deployed in the Kogi governorship election which includes, Local Government Collation Officers (21), Registration Area Collation Officers (239), Supervisory Presiding Officers (255), Presiding Officers (NYSC) – 2,548, Assistant Presiding Officers 7,644.

Others to be deployed for the Kogi polls include: Assistant Presiding Officers (883), Reserve APOs (5%) of APOs (NYSC) -426, Local Government Supervisors and Head Quarters (1) Reserve (22), Registration Area Cluster Supervisors and Head Quarters (1), Reserve (80), Constituency Supervisor. The Commission also gave the breakdown of personnel for the Bayelsa governorship polls, these are, Returning Officer, Local Government Collation Officers (8), Registration Area Collation Officers (105), Supervisory Presiding Officers (180), Presiding Officers (NYSC)- 1,804,

Others are, Assistant Presiding Officers (5,412), Assistant Presiding Officers (VP) (1,931), Reserve APOs (five per cent) of APOs (NYSC) -271, Local Government Supervisors and Head Quarters (1), Reserve (9), Registration Area Supervisors and Head Quarters (1), Reserve (106)
