2023: Ohanaeze tackles Arewa youth, reveals why Igbo must be president after Buhari

The Igbo apex political organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has insisted that the South-East must be allowed to produce Nigeria’s President in 2023.

Ohanaeze’s deputy spokesperson, Chuks Ibegbu, in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST on Saturday, insisted that 2023 was the turn of the South-East to produce Nigeria’s president

He said this while rubbishing a remark by the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, that the North would retain power at the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s second tenure.

Ibegbu wondered if the North were comfortable with the current level of poverty and insecurity in the region and the country as a whole.

He stressed that other geo-political regions of the country had produced presidents, hence 2023 was the turn of an Igbo man to become Nigeria’s President.

Reacting to AYCF’s statement, Ibegbu said: “What has the North benefited from producing the presidency all this while, is it Almajiri, poverty, insecurity that they want to continue? Is this what the North want to continue with?

“This is not all about grand standing, presidency of Nigeria is turn by turn, the North, South West, South South have done theirs turn it’s time for the South-East. Simple.

“Other zones have had their turn 2023, it’s time for the South-East. simple.”
