The Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO) has announced that its members were already working round the clock “in order to force President Muhammadu Buhari to seek re-election in 2019.”
Leaders of the group said they were asking Buhari to seek re-election as a result of his, “tremendous achievements in taking Nigeria to a greater height through his agenda, policies and fight against corruption and insurgency.”
National Chairman of the group, Alhaji Danladi Pasali, told newsmen in Jos, yesterday, that Buhari’s policies like the Anchor Borrowers under the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) that earmarked N220bn for lending to farmers was a big achievement.
He said that over 2.8m farmers had benefited from the scheme and some of them had built houses for their families and sponsored themselves on pilgrimage.
“Now a lot of our income is coming from the non-oil sector. We have seen what happened in the Customs, where N2 or N3bn was remitted before, but now we are talking of N36bn.
“It is we Nigerians that are saying Buhari must seek a second term,” Pasali said.
