National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus says the party is getting set for its eventual return to Aso Rock Villa in 2019.

He spoke when he received the forum of Speakers of PDP controlled state Assemblies at his legacy house office in Maitama Abuja.

Secondus briefed them on the activities of the new National Working Committee and assured that Nigerians would be happy with what is emerging as a new rebranded opposition party.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Ike Abonyi, the National Chairman said “what would come out of the re-engineering going in our party would make it a formidable opposition ready and determined to regain power in 2019”

“We have been going round the country since we assumed office and we are glad to report that many Nigerians out there are anxiously waiting for the PDP return to power.

“Our visits to States reveals that only PDP governors are delivering in their campaign promises and their people are happy and supportive.

” in Abia, Delta and Bayelsa states where we visited recently, PDP governors are phenomenal in their performance, no wonder the people are trooping back to the party from the wobbling ruling APC”

Secondus told the speakers to note that their position is very critical to the mobilization programs of the party across the country because of their closeness to the grassroots.

“You must remain connected to your people because we are taking the party back to the real owners, the people at the grassroots where you are closer.

He disclosed that PDP is planning a policy that would take the party to the youths through a new program.

Tagged ‘Generation’, Secondus said the initiative would soon be launched and urged the speakers to key into the idea.
