A factional Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Fouad Oki on Friday made a startling revelation about the Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
His revelation also pointed to the direction of lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Bayo Oshinowo.
He alleged that both politicians were plotting against the second term ambition of the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Oki said this when he appeared on a radio programme, Morning Digest on Lagos Talks 91.3Fm, hosted by veteran journalist, Jimi Disu, on Friday.
He claimed that the duo had approached him to discuss the plot, challenging them to come out publicly to state their own side of the story or deny such discussion ever took place.
He said, “I think they (Aregbesola and Oshinowo) should be man enough to come out to say what the Governor has done that they are not happy with.
“It’s not by keeping the man in the dark and not telling him exactly what it is and then crying Hosanna in the day and crucifying him at night, they should be man enough to come out.”
He also blamed Aregbesola and Oshinowo for the crisis in the party in the State, saying that they were hell bent on ensuring that they had their way and take control of the party.
He added, “Anybody trying to bring Bola Tinubu into this matter is unfair. Really, if there are personalities in the issue, it would have been Governor Aregbesola and Hon. Bayo Oshinowo who on their own decided that everybody must be roped into line by joining by fire by force the Mandate Group.
“And because they have their issues with the current State Governor and because of that they have made up their mind on what the likely result of party primaries would be and if they have issues with Governor Ambode they should not bring it or situate it within the party process.
“I don’t have any reason to say this is what the man has done against me. The last time we met, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, our leader, invited me to meet Asiwaju with him to discuss some issues at Bourdillon.
“While we were there, the Governor came in and we all greeted and when the Governor got to me he said, “Egbon, ma fe na yin pa ni,” (Meaning “Big Brother, I’ll roundly defeat!” in Yoruba) and we laughed over the banter.
“About five minutes after Prince Olusi came in and myself and Prince Olusi were going in to meet with Asiwaju and then the Governor saw me again and called me and we exchanged banters again.
“During the build up to the bye-election in Eti Osa last year in October where the Governor invited all the leaders in Eti Osa for a meeting at the Government House, as the Vice Chairman of the party for Central, I was informed that I need to lead the leadership of that meeting.
“When we got there, after about 30 minutes it was announced that the Governor was coming in. We all rose up, but I was backing the entrance where he came in from, so I couldn’t have seen him and he tapped me by the shoulder and I turned around and we embraced and exchanged banters.
“After the meeting, we met again and we greeted again and burst into laughter. That is the kind of relationship that I have with him. I don’t have issues with the Governor, those that have issues with him should call him and resolve it rather than bring it into the party.”
