Two out of three serving senators of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Niger State, on Tuesday, lost in the primary election.
They were defeated in the party’s primary election conducted across the three senatorial districts in the state.
In Niger East Senatorial District, two-time senator and Chairman, Senate Committee on Judiciary and Human Right, David Umoru, lost to a new entrant, Sani Musa
In the Niger North Senatorial District, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Information, Senator Aliyu Abdullahi, made way for the Niger State Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affair, Zakari Jikantoro.
In Niger South, voting was delayed due to the late arrival of voting materials; the result has not been made public.
