2019: Stop insulting our leaders – Enugu APC faction to Nwoye

The faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led by Deacon Okey Ogbodo, has faulted the statement issued against former Senate President, Ken Nnamani.

The party in the State, led by Barr. Ben Nwoye had slammed Nnamani for attending an event together with some members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

DAILY POST reports that the event was the commissioning of a public facility belonging to Nnamani’s community.

But reacting, the Deputy Chairman of the Ogbodo faction, Hon. Adolphus Ude, said Nwoye’s attack on Nnamani was unnecessary.

According to him, the former Senate President committed no offence by identifying with his community.

Ude, who is also a pioneer Deputy Chairman of the party, stressed that “the event was not in any way a political rally and could not have been an avenue to market any particular candidate. What is wrong for him to commend the governor for commissioning a project in his community? Was that a PDP meeting or rally? So, Nwoye should be educated to make him stop talking from two sides of his mouth.

“The event had to do with the entire Amaechi community, irrespective of party divides. It is, therefore, weird for anyone to start hauling attack on the personality of Nnamani, who remains the highest political office holder Enugu ever had, having served as the Senate President.

“He has attracted a lot of benefits to Enugu and South-East as a whole; the democracy we are enjoying today, it is Ken Nnamani that helped to deepen it by killing third term.

“So, someone in the level of Nwoye lacks the capacity to attack such a high calibre Igbo leader like Ken Nnamani.

“It is then not acceptable for Nwoye to insult such a personality for no just cause. This serial abuse of our leaders should stop forthwith. It has become his stock in trade and that is why we are calling him to order,” Ude added.
