2019 presidency: Turaki speaks on stepping down for Atiku

The Director of Media and Publicity of the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki campaign organisation, Sola Atere has debunked rumours making the rounds on the social media that his principal has stepped down from the race for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential ticket.

The rumour, which began as a tweet from @changed_Nigeria, has it that Turaki, an ex-Minister of Special Duties, yielded to pressure for him to shelve his ambition for former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

Atere, however, in his brief reaction to the rumour, told journalists in Abuja: “Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, is a man of integrity, credibility, honour and highly responsible and God-fearing professional.

“Turaki is in the race for the presidency to serve the nation with all sense of responsibility and trust.

“He has the uncommon capacity to hold the office of the President with all due respect and has not yielded his aspiration to anybody”.
