South East Governors and the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo will meet this afternoon in Enugu over the choice of former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi as the running mate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had yesterday chosen Obi as his running mate.
The meeting will also be attended by some key PDP officials from the zone.
The meeting according to Sun, will centre on the refusal of Atiku to consult with the governors and critical stakeholders before settling for Obi as his running mate.
A top PDP official, who doubles as a senatorial candidate accused Atiku of not keeping to his earlier promise.
He told Sun that the meeting is to look at options before the South East PDP leaders.
The senatorial candidate also disclosed that Governors from the zone and other leaders, having been treated disdainfully by the PDP candidate may endorse President Muhammadu Buhari for 2019 election.
