Former governor of Enugu State, Senator Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani has declared that the Ebeano political family is made up of passionate people and as such the group would never die.
Nnamani, who made the assertion during the continuation of his campaign rally on Monday, again thanked Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of the State for promoting peace and for making himself an instrument in the hand of God.
The ex-Governor’s campaign team were at Enugu South Local Government Area where a large crowd of his enthusiastic supporters waited till late in the night.
Our correspondent reports that the campaign, which kicked off from Ugwuaji, proceeded to Amaechi before it terminated at Uwani, the council headquarters, where they were received by the waiting supporters.
Highly elated Nnamani said the patience exhibited by the crowd was a clear testimony that the Ebeano family was alive and well.
He declared: “We thank the person who made it possible, and that is Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. The light has been put on; we shall roll out our drums, we thank him because the Ebeano family if alive and well.
“You know that lawyers will say that if you put something on nothing it will not stand, but the Ebeano family is built on a solid foundation, solid foundation as the rock of God, as the rock of Gibraltar;
“We all have faith in Ebeano because we are all shareholders. We are members, all Ebeano members are equal. Why you remained here waiting for us is not because you like us, it is because you are equal partners. It is because you love us and we are sharing common interest. The bond in Ebeano is not likeness; likeness is not what will make you stay here till night; it is passion, bridges, common interest; that is why Ebeano will never die.
“What is our common interest- we are all fighting so that God will allow the destiny in each of us to be fulfilled. We are fighting so that each one of us will get his or her own. If you don’t get today, you get tomorrow, that is the foundation of Ebeano- parity, common interest.
“Who made our show to roll out? It is Gburugburu, our governor. What will we do for him? We will be praying for him and on the 2nd of March, we should all vote him in and our House of Assembly candidates. Then on the 16th of February, you vote me for Senate, vote Offor Chukwuegbo for House of Reps. What we have is a joint ticket. We are conjoined twins, we are conjoined triplets. So, if you are voting for me, it means you are voting for Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, you are voting for Offor and you are voting for Sam Ngene.
“We don’t want you to stay at home and say there is no opposition. When we were in PDC, all of you used to come out, that is the same thing we expect this time. So, until the vote is cast and declared, don’t go and relax.”
He pledged that “we are going to make sure that our people’s needs are integrated into the budget. Issues of health, employment, electricity, roads and quality bills, you can be assured that Enugu South will not be left out.”
Also speaking, the Director of the Ebeano Campaign Organization, Hon. John Ude said Nnamani’s role in the political life of several people in the State would never be wished away.
He said, “all the people who have been one thing or the other in Enugu South, Senate President, House of Reps, State Assembly, Ambassador, council chairmen, including their deputies, they are all products of PDP, and products of Ebeano, because Ebeano is PDP.”
He equally lauded Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who he said has performed excellently.
“He is now being called 13th month governor. Some of his colleagues are owing salaries, six months, one year but he is paying even 13th month. He has done well, even in terms of peace and that is why his action has even absorbed members of the APC into PDP in the State, they are part of us. The foundation he laid for peace is yielding fruits in Enugu State.
“He is also someone that remembers yesterday, and that is why he remembered our brother and leader, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani,” Ude noted
