Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela has resigned from the administration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the state.
DAILY POST gathered on Tuesday that Olowofela tendered his resignation letter on Monday in order to pursue his political ambition to contest the Ido/ Ibarapa East Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The don shortly after dropping his resignation, picked up the APC nomination form at the party’s secretariat in Abuja.
Ajimobi had last Saturday enjoined members of his cabinet who have political ambition in 2019 to resign on Monday.
Olowofela confirmed his resignation via a statement obtained by DAILY POST Tuesday afternoon.
He said, “Today, I tendered my resignation letter this morning to pursue my Federal House of Representatives ambition (Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency).
“I resigned following my resolution to contest the Federal House of Representatives seat having obtained the APC nomination form”.
