Orji Uzor Kalu, a former governor of Abia and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Friday, claimed that the current governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has failed, particularly in the payment of worker’s salaries.
Kalu made his feelings known while speaking at the official flagg-off of the Abia All Progressives Congress governorship Campaign rally held in Umuahia, the state capital.
According to the ex-governor, “During my administration, salaries were being paid before end of the months. There was tuition free education from the primary school level to the university level.
“Now, all those legacy policies and projects have disappeared. The PDP-led government had left all those in a state of dilapidation.
” They are owing salaries. Workkers are hungry. There is total poverty in the state. They always tells lies and deceiving the people of Abia with fake promises.
“PDP has failed in all facets of governance.”
Kalu however convassed for support for the APC governorship candidate in the state, Uchechukwu Ogah, saying Ogah had the needed experience and capacity to revamp the economy of Abia.
