Ahead of the 2019 elections, the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has warned Corps members’ against taking bribe from politicians.
The Director General of the corps, Brig. Gen. Suleiman Kazaure issued the warning while visiting corps members at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Suru Local Government Area, Darkingari, Kebbi State, News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports.
Represented by Mrs Victoria Ango, a Deputy Director in the Evaluation Department, NYSC headquarters, Abuja, the DG said, “I urge you to please avoid bribing and fraud during the 2019 general elections. You are not covered by any immunity; anybody caught violating electoral acts is going to face the full wrath of the law.
“Your life is very important to us; you are the future leaders, so do not lose your life for politicians.”
He also assured that the corps members would be sensitised on the right morals while discharging their duties.
Kazaure stated that the scheme had set up a security committee in charge of the mechanisms to monitor corps members.
“INEC will also train corps members on how to discharge their electoral duties during the polls,” he said.
