2019: No crack in our party – Ondo APC defends Gov. Akeredolu

The Publicity Secretary of the Ondo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alex Kalejaye has debunked the statement credited to a factional group of the party, “Ondo APC Mandate” that the Governor of the state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s leadership style might cost the party its chances in next year’s general election.

In a statement he issued in Akure on Monday, Kalejaye emphasized that he is not aware of any rancour within the party as Gov. Akeredolu has been accommodating to all.

“I am not aware of any crack in the soul of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State. The State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has so far appointed men and women of integrity into the government based on their contributions to party, and ability to deliver.

“You will agree with me that it is impossible for every dedicated member of the party to be appointed at the same time, considering the limited resources available.”

He however appealed to every member of the party to be patient with the administration, stating that the success of the party at the 2019 polls should be of concern to them.

“As long as we are in one accord, and remain in power, chances are that those that have not be patronized today would take their (sic) soonest.

“We only need to stay together and work for the success of the party in future elections. The welfare of our members and development of the State are not negotiable.”

Earlier, DAILY POST had reported that the group (Ondo APC Mandate) had berated Gov. Akeredolu over his approach to party issues, a disposition which, according to the group, would cost the APC votes at next year’s polls.
