Former National Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration to run for the 2019 Presidential election.
Buhari had on Monday declared that he would run in the coming election.
Buhari also said he would come out victorious by the grace of God.
But reacting, Makarfi said there was nothing new in Buhari’s pronouncement.
“It’s no news that he is contesting, it would have been news if he had announced the opposite,” he told Independent.
Similarly, a former Governor of Kaduna State Alhaji Balarabe Musa, said the idea of the President seeking re-election was a welcomed one.
Musa also told the newspaper, “President Muhammadu Buhari is welcome on board, but we want to assure Nigerians that the PRP has a presidential candidate to field in the 2019 general elections.”
