2019: I am the candidate to beat – David Mark declares in Nasarawa

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential hopeful and immediate past Senate President, Senator David Mark, has called on Nigerians to support his ambition, affirming that he’s the man to beat.

He also implored delegates to the National Convention to vote for an aspirant who is competent and has character to stand the test of time.

Addressing party faithful in Akwanga, Nasarawa State on Thursday, Senator Mark lamented that the state has been contributing to the development of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja but is yet to benefit from the development of the nation’s capital.

He promised a special status for Nasarawa State if elected President of the Federal Republic in 2019.

Such a status, Senator Mark listed to include special attention for the rapid infrastructural development of the State.

“All of us aspiring to be the PDP candidate for 2019 Presidential election are qualified, but we must seek for a candidate that has the strength of character to stand the test of time. Without being immodest, I am the candidate to beat,” Senator Mark stressed.

He urged Nigerians to remain steadfast with the PDP as the preferred option, pointing out that “events in the past three years under a different party have vindicated our party, the PDP as the hope for the people.”

Director General of his Campaign Organization, Senator Zainab Kure, urged the delegates to elect Senator Mark as the candidate of the PDP, saying “he has over the years demonstrated capacity needed to stabilize the nation”.

Chairman of the State chapter of the PDP, Francis Orogu, extolled the sterling leadership qualities of Senator Mark and submitted that the Presidential aspirant is an asset needed to steer the ship of the nation to prosperity.
