2019: How lawmaker escaped constituents attack in Bauchi

Residents of Bar in Bogoro constituents were said to have ambushed one Hon. Markus Makama, a member representing Bogoro at Bauchi State House of Assembly under PDP.

Eyewitness told DAILY POST that the member had arrived the village to attend a political gathering when the incident occurred.

Malllam Ali in an interview with DAILY POST stressed that the member had failed the constituents due to absence of meaningful development in the area.

According to Ali, the ambush on the lawmaker had been linked to how the member distanced self from the constituents soon after 2015 election.

” It’s unfortunate that the member has failed the people and we advise him to bury his ambition come 2019 as we learnt he is still warming up for a second term,” Ali said.

It could be recalled that a similar attack was carried out on Hon.Haliru Jika, a federal lawmaker from Soro Ganjuwa LGA when residents rejected a donation of a transformer.

DAILY POST, however, gathered during the ambush on the member in Bogoro, youths took to the streets chanting ”don’t contest in 2919.”

The attack was not entirely successful as the lawmaker’s vehicle had to zoom off to escape being lynched.
