2019: Gbenga Daniel reveals why South-West, South East not Atiku’s ‘headache’

The Director-General of the Atiku Campaign Organisation, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has stated that the presidential campaign of the former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will concentrate on the South-West geopolitical zone because the South-South and South-East geopolitical zones are already of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Speaking yesterday while addressing members of a group, Think Atiku 2019, who visited him at his Sagamu residence, he expressed confidence in the ability of Abubakar to win the 2019 presidential elections if nominated by the PDP, stressing that available indices point to the fact that, “the Atiku presidency is something whose time has come”.

The former governor of Ogun state, while pointing out that formidable structures were being put in place across the country for the presidential project, said, “If you look at the southern states, for instance, you’d know that the South-South and South East are PDP states. It’s the South-West where we still have an interplay of various parties. So, if there is any place where we need to do more work, as far as this project is concerned, it is the South West.”

Recall that Atiku Abubakar has appointed Daniel to lead his 2019 presidential campaign in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
