Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation minister, on Wednesday reacted to the call by Bishop David Abioye of Living Faith Church that Christians should not vote for those who place more values on cows than human beings during the 2019 elections.
He gave the warning in a sermon, where he also listed ways the country is rapidly being islamised.
Addressing his congregation, Abioye, who is Bishop David Oyedepo’s deputy said, “We must wake up. We must wake up. 2019 must be deciding year for the church.
“We must wake up. We’ll not use our hands to vote for people who’ll kill us. We’ll not vote for people who have value for cows more than value for human lives. Wake up. A word is enough to the wise.”
In his reaction, Fani-Kayode, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain commended Abioye for the charge to his members.
He described Abioye’s words as “Strong, courageous and timely words.”
In a tweet, Fani-Kayode wrote: “Kudos to Bishop Abioye of Winners Chapel who said that Christians should not vote for anyone in 2019 who opposes or seeks to denigrate their faith or who values cattle more than the lives of human beings. Strong, courageous and timely words. Proud of you my Bishop!”
