2019 elections: Stop killing innocent people – FRSC warns reckless politicians

The Federal Road Safety Corps has raised the alarm over politicians’ act of reckless driving during their campaign rallies ahead of the coming general elections, claiming the lives of innocent people.

This was stated by the Jigawa state Sector Commandant, CC Angus Obumneme Ibezim, during a Stakeholders’ meeting on the preparations towards the 2019 General Elections and the need for smooth conduct of the exercise.

He warned politicians against the defacing of road signs with party posters along major roads in the state, excessive speed, overloading of party supporters, hanging of passengers on moving buses/ trucks, and loading of party faithful inside car boots.

He then warned party leaders to advise their supporters against such anti-safety acts, and the dangers.

Ebezim, therefore, advised politicians to drive and stay safe and alive by obeying traffic regulations while canvassing for electorates’ support for the elections.

DAILY POST gathered that no fewer than nine people died in three different auto accidents in Jigawa State while party supporters returning from APC gubernatorial campaign rallies including three innocent children who are returning from school and many survived various degrees of injuries.
