The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Tuesday, demanded for the stoppage of the ongoing collation of results for the presidential and National Assembly elections across the country.
It said the demand was sequel to the alleged reconfiguration of data contained on the card reader.
The Deputy Director General of the PDP Campaign Organization, Alhaji Tanimu Turaki, said this while briefing newsmen in Abuja.
In his words, “We have evidence that the smart card readers have been tampered with.
“Our position is based on the available evidence that data on the card readers were tampered and reconfigured”.
Also, the Deputy Campaign DG called for the cancellation of results as tendered by the INEC collation officers for Zamfara, Borno and Yobe states.
He alleged that the results from the aforestated states were arbitrarily manipulated and allocated without elections just to favour the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
In his words, ” Credible Information showed there was no election in Zamfara state. Results were allotted by the APC stalwarts in collaboration with INEC.
“No actual voting took place Yobe and some parts of Borno states. No single result sheet was even provided”.
Besides, the PDP demanded an immediate restoration of 157,000 votes which it claimed were valid votes from Nasarawa State.
The opposition party said INEC cancelled the affected results arbitrarily. It also made the same demand for Kogi state where it claimed that the 79,000 cancelled votes were valid.
Other places PDP called for the restoration of cancelled votes are in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and, Plateau State.
For the Plateau state, particularly in Jos North, PDP said over 30,000 votes were arbitrarily cancelled as well as 27,000 votes in FCT.
The party, however, took exemptions to the arrest, detention and traumatisation of some of its leaders in the build up to the election and, after the last Saturday’s voting exercise across the federation and demanded for their immediate release.
