The leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), on Tuesday vowed not to allow any Hausa or Fulani person to takeover governorship position in Igbo land.
The group made this known in a statement signed by its National Director of Information, Comrade Edeson Samuel and made available to Journalists in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State.
Edeson, however, said that MASSOB has passed vote of confidence on governors of Ebonyi and Enugu States, Chief David Umahi and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
“We shall also liaise and cooperate with Igbo traditional/religious leaders for greater good of Biafra. The people of Biafra are tired of Hausa Fulani’s stooges that are representing our peoples.
“Governors that are positively touching the lives of our people through health care, infrastructural development, youths/women empowerments will also have our support.
“We have resolved to support the continuity of Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Dave Umahi of Enugu and Ebonyi States, we are moved to declare our open support to them because of their ingenuity and robustness in infrastructural developments, health care and social welfare of their respective states.
“Ndigbo can be proud of Abakiliki and Enugu on the sudden transformational outlook of these great cities of Igbo land. Enugu has suddenly bounced back to her ancient glory as capital and political headquarters of Igbo land even Abakiliki that was a forgotten city have bounce back to a modern city.
“MASSOB encouraged the citizens and residents of Enugu and Ebonyi States to return back Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Dave Umahi for continuous development of Igbo land,” he stated.
