2019 election: You can’t repeat 2015 rigging – Jonathan’s minister, Orubebe warns

A former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe, has told the All Progressives Congress, APC, that it would not be allowed to repeat the alleged rigging of 2015.

During the collation of the 2015 presidential election results, the former Minister had stirred up controversy, accusing the then Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega, of manipulating the results in favour of the APC candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking with TELL magazine, Orubebe alleged rigging in Ekiti and other governorship elections conducted recently.

He vowed that the alleged rigging activities would not be allowed to be repeated in the 2019 elections The former Minister said, “Everybody knows what happened in Ekiti; it was a stolen victory.

“And so it is in some other areas. We have been talking to our people to have patience.

“What has been happening in those elections can’t take place in February 2019. It can’t happen.”
