2019 election: Why APC cannot win – AD guber candidate

Seyi Olufade, the governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), has declared that All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State cannot win the 2019 governorship election in the state.

Olufade said that his submission was hinged on the fact that the popularity of the incumbent Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has declined considerably.

He told journalists in Abeokuta on Tuesday that aside the crisis rocking APC in the state, the scientific survey indicated that the acceptability of the incumbent governor had seriously declined.

The 39 year-old politician from Ilaro, said that results of the survey carried out from May to July revealed that 76 per cent of the respondents were fed up with the present administration.

He said that people in the state would not likely support whoever the governor presents as a candidate for the 2019 gubernatorial election.

Olufade said that results of the survey made him to change his platform to contest the election.

According to him, “I opted for AD, because it remains the only party with pure progressive ideology and structure across the state.

“Our party will leverage on the demographic reality of 65 per cent youths population to ensure victory at the poll.”

“My years of experience in the public sector, my youthfulness, energy, skills, knowledge and connections, will be put to use if elected the state governor,” Olufade said.

He listed his five pillar blueprints to include public service accountability and good governance; security, law and order; sustainable human capital development; infrastructure for economic growth and development and land, environment and natural resources.

Olufade said that they would be pursued by his administration to enhance delivery of good governance.
