2019 election: What Buhari has done to politicians – APC chieftain, Adeola

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Sen. Olamilekan Adeola (Lagos West) on Monday said President Muhammadu Buhari had recorded remarkable achievements in the fight against corruption.

Adeola made the statement while addressing members of the party, residents and other stakeholders in Mushin and Ojuwoye areas of Lagos.

He said the fierce anti-graft war waged by the Buhari administration had stopped the looting of the country’s treasury, which he said was a common practice in the past.

Adeola added that it was no more business as usual under the current administration.

He said the government had sent those who used to make free money through stealing of public funds out of business

“President Muhammadu Buhari has done very well in the fight against corruption and that is why treasury looting has become a thing of the past under his administration.

“I mean, the looting and monumental corruption that characterised the PDP government is no more there, there is no more free money.

“Buhari is channelling the country’s scarce resources on developmental projects.

“And because it is no more business as usual for the people on the other side, that is why they are wailing and ganging up against the president,” he said.

Adeola said the president together with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo had also done their best to put the economy in shape.

According to him, the economy was almost rendered prostrate by the 16 years of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He urged Nigerians to vote massively for Buhari for the consolidation of the achievements recorded by the APC in the last three years.

Adeola advised Nigerians not to be hoodwinked by the promises of the PDP to make the country better.

He said PDP had 16years to meet the aspirations of Nigerians, pointing out that they instead stifled the country’s development by looting the country’s resources.

The senator said a vote for Atiku Abubakar, the PDP Presidential candidate would take the country back to “the years of locusts”.

Adeola said he was seeking re-election to further give the people of the Lagos West quality representation at the Senate.

He appealed to constituents to vote for him, Buhari and the Lagos APC Governorship Candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for more development of the senatorial zone.

Adeola urged constituents to come out en masse to participate in the February and March elections, saying it was through participation that they could elect leaders of their choice.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mr Yemi Ali, a House of Representatives Candidate in Mushin as well as other candidates for State Legislative Seats in the area were present at the meeting.

Representatives of youth, religious and professional groups, as well as market women and other residents were also present.
