2019 election: Shehu Sani reacts to freezing of Peter Obi’s accounts, EFCC at Okupe’s ho

The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has reacted to the freezing of the bank account of the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi.

DAILY POST reported yesterday the Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential Campaign Organization PPCO, cried out over the stoppage of transactions on all accounts belonging to Obi, wife, his family members and their businesses by agencies of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

In another development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was also said to have stormed the home of the Spokespersons of the PDP campaign, Doyin Okupe, on Saturday.

Sani noted that the scenario played out in 2015 when the government in power used state apparatus to try to subdue the opposition.

However, the lawmaker wondered why this continued even under the current administration that preaches change.

The Senator tweeted, “In the run up to 2015 elections, the then government used the apparatus of the state to intimidate members of the then opposition led by PMB.

“Its sad now that history is repeating itself; the fangs, the claws and the venom of the state is ‘progressively’ unleashed on the opposition.”
