Erstwhile Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ali Modu Sheriff has declared that Borno State has delivered the maximum votes cast in the Saturday presidential election in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The former governor of Borno State, who is now a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, spoke to reporters yesterday at the venue of the presidential collation centre in Maiduguri, the state capital.
He assured that Buhari would ultimately emerge winner of Saturday’s presidential election.
Sheriff stated that he led a separate campaign, aside the state campaign council of APC to ensure that Buhari got a second term.
He said: “So far, the results that we have got from the field are encouraging, and we are 100 percent sure that all our candidates, especially our three senators and House of Representatives will soon be declared winners.
“And if these are in favour of APC, it means the president will get substantial votes from Borno State and we believe our result will be more than that of 2015.”
