2019 election: Police uncover alleged plans to disrupt election in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command said they have uncovered plots by some “unscrupulous elements” to cause trouble during the forthcoming 2019 general elections, slated for Saturday, February 16.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdul Jinjiri, made this disclosure via a statement on Wednesday.

He explained that the command, in collaboration with other sister security agencies in the state would fish out those planning to cause unrest in the state before, during and after the polls.

The statement further called on the good people of the state to go about their normal businesses and make good use of the provided lines so as to attain free, fair, and credible elections in the state.

The statement further revealed that unauthorized movements are restricted as from midnight on Friday until after elections, saying only those on official and essential duties are allowed to be seen on the roads on election day.

The command, however, released effective mobile numbers to seek clearance on any sensitive issue bordering on election exercise, security matters among other relevant issues that call for prompt police attention.

The number were: 08075391069, 08057100000, 08088520528,08088517047,08166223705,09030622111.
