The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has reacted to report making the rounds online telling Nigerians to vote only with the ‘Index finger’

The electoral body in a post on its verified Twitter page teaching prospective voters on how to vote on Saturday said any finger can be used to vote.

The body also described reports of using only the index finger to vote as ‘Fake News’.

Alongside a video, the post read: “Fake News Alert: Any finger can be used for marking a ballot paper.

“Ballot paper is not sensitive, use any finger but don’t let the mark cross into another box.”

Nigeria’s Presidential elections will hold on Saturday.
