The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has revealed that the state Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, will flag off his governorship campaign ahead of the 2019 elections.
He said this at a news conference during the official presentation of his manifesto held at his Iperu-Remo country home on Tuesday.
According to him, all issues surrounding the conduct of the party’s governorship primaries are internal issues that would be resolved amicably before the elections.
Abiodun said Governor Amosun as the leader of the party would raise his hand at the campaign flag off.
He said, “It’s not unusual for us to have internal wrangling in a primary election or election matter. But I’m convinced that there is a lot of time between now and elections and we have a mechanism within our party that we use to settle disputes.
“The election is less than 80 days away and I’m sure and confident that between now and that time, all the issues relating to our state executive will be resolved,” he assured.
“The governor of the state is the leader of the party in the state. We are flagging off our governorship campaign soon; he is the incumbent governor. I don’t have a doubt that our issues will be resolved; they are internal issues.
“I’m sure that the governor of Ogun State will be at our flag-off and I’m sure that he will be raising my hand up as the candidate of the party.
DAILY POST reported earlier that Amosun had vowed to work against Abiodun’s victory during the election, addding that he will ensure the victory of his preferred candidate, Adekunle Akinlade, who recently joined the Allied People’s Movement.
