Former aide to the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe has reacted to the mass movement of Igbo political leaders from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
According to the former Presidential aide, all the noted leaders in the South East have dumped the main opposition party, adding that they were only three or four notable major political personalities of significance that were remaining in the PDP.
In a post he shared on Facebook entitled “2019 in View” Okupe listed Senator Hope Uzodinma, Chief Alex Ekwueme, Nwuayanwu and Peter Obi as the only once still standing.
He wrote, “The movement of the Igbo elites from PDP to APC is nearly complete. Only 3 or 4 major political personalities of significance remains: namely Chief Alex Ekwueme, Chief Nwuayanwu, former Governor Peter Obi and Senator Uzodima.
“This is a major political shift in our landscape and has very significant implications on 2019.
“I must add though that the elites have a lot of work to do to carry the populace along with them. But the Igbos are presently speaking and loudly too.”
