The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has reacted to the emergence of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate for the 2019 General election.
Atiku polled the highest votes of 1532 to defeat his closest rival, Aminu Tambuwal who polled 693, and 11 other contestants who had vied for the party’s ticket.
Reacting, Dogara writing on his official Twitter page congratulated Atiku. He stated that he was hopeful that PDP will transform Nigeria.
He wrote, “Congratulations to H.E. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar [@atiku] on his emergence as the @OfficialPDPNig presidential candidate.
“I am hopeful that come February 2019, PDP will lead Nigeria to the transformation that we so dearly desire as citizens of this great country.”
