The Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Wednesday submitted his governorship nomination form to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Ambode submitted the governorship forms at the APC headquarters in Abuja.
The governor submitted the form amid report of a face-off with his estranged political godfather and a National Leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu.
Over 50 council chairmen loyal to Tinubu had reportedly met and pledged their support for Jide Sanyaolu Sanwonolu, who is believed to be Tinubu’s preferred choice.
Ambode’s submission is coming barely 48 hours after Sanwonolu, Tinubu’s alleged anointed candidate picked up his governorship forms at the APC secretariat.
Sanwonolu is believed to have the backing of Bola Tinubu.
