The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, Otunba Henry Ajomale, has described Bode George, Ishola Filani, Charles Akitoye, and other Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) stalwarts from the state as day-dreamers, political jokers and comedians for vowing to sack the APC in the 2019 elections.
He said this in reaction to statements created to Bode George, who in company of other PDP chieftains, had bragged that they would deploy experience and wisdom to rescue and position the party to snatch power from APC in 2019.
According to Ajomale, Nigerians love President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC administration, for the tenacity of the war against impunity, corruption, and other reforms introduced by the federal government which he claimed have started yielding dividends.
He said: “These three men are day-dreamers. In other climes, people like Bode George, Filani and Akitoye would dare not open their mouths in view of monumental damage done to Nigeria in all facets of our socio-economic lives by their political party, PDP.PDP was in power for 15 years, but those years were years of waste for Nigeria.
“Under PDP, Nigeria almost became a failed state, 15 years years of PDP in power were years of monumental corruption and waste. Those years were years of locust. PDP virtually destroyed Nigeria. People like George, Filani and Akitoye think Nigerians have short memory. They should forget it. Their party can never taste political power in Nigeria again. Never,” he declared.
While stressing that there was no basis for comparison between PDP and APC, Ajomale said: “It is like comparing light with darkness, PDP is like darkness, while APC is light, and that’s why Nigerians now know the difference between the two parties.
“For 16 years, PDP was in power , Nigeria was stagnant. Corruption became the order of the day. Looters were having a field day and Nigeria was almost collapsing before God intervened and President Buhari was elected into office in 2015 and since then, Nigerians have been enjoying a new lease of life.
“PDP leaders should, however, hold themselves responsible for what is happening to the party. PDP is gradually going into oblivion. In many states across the country, it is either PDP is dying or in comatose. In Lagos State, PDP is already dead. The reality these three men should accept is that the party is over for PDP. PDP can’t come back into reckoning again. Never. You reap what you sow, PDP sowed failure, and the party is paying dearly for it today,” he said.
