2019: APGA Reps aspirant, Charles Nzechi dumps party in Abia

Ambassador Charles Nzechi, a House of Representatives aspirant at the just-concluded primaries of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Abia state, has renounced his membership of the party.

Nzechi announced his decision in a letter addressed to the APGA chairman in his Isingwu ward, in Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state and made available to newsmen in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, Tuesday.

He thanked the state leadership of the party for their support and encouragement throughout his sojourn in APGA.

Nzechi failed  to clinch the House of Representatives ticket for Ikwuano/Umuahia constituency at the just concluded primaries of APGA, after he was beaten by a retired Naval Commander MacDonald Ubah.

The ex-Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, however did not give reason why he dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

The letter reads, “I want to sincerely thank you and the party, especially Isingwu ward and Umuahia North, for the support, encouragements and opportunities provided me in the course of my membership of the party.

“However, just as Martin Luther King Jr. said, “There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.

“My Chairman, by this letter I resign my membership of the party. It was a great experience fellowshipping with you all. May God continue to guide and protect you all.”
