Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, the Abia state chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has emerged as the newly elected Inter-Party Advisory Committee,(IPAC) chairman in the state.
Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, is an umbrella body of registered political parties in Nigeria.
The election was conducted at the INEC Headquarters in Umuahia, during the weekend, and supervised by the National headquarter of the commission-led by Ambassador Jephas Anyanwu,INEC.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the election, the new IPAC chairman thanked members of the body for the confidence reposed in him.
He described his emergence as IPAC chairman as a victory for democracy and assured that under his leadership, due process will be observed.
Ehiemere however urged INEC to emulate the transparent level of the IPAC election, by conducting credible and acceptable elections in 2019.
The APGA chairman said, “We will make sure Abians enjoy democracy and things are done well. My leadership will not hurt anyone, we will only insist that things should be done properly.”
