2019: Alex Otti clinches APGA ticket to run for Abia guber seat

Alex Otti, former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank, Thursday, clinched the ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA to contest the 2019 governorship election in Abia State.

Declaring the results of the governorship primary election after collation, at the State Secretariat of APGA, the chairman of Electoral Committee and National Welfare Secretary, Barrister Cairo Okoroafor, said Otti scored 574 votes to emerge the gubernatorial candidate of APGA in the forthcoming election in the state

She said, “610 delegates participated in the APGA governorship primary election and all these delegates cast their votes. Unfortunately, we have total number of 36 void votes”.

“Dr. Alex Otti had a total number of 574 votes, and these are all valid votes cast. And so, by the power conferred on me by the National working committee that I represent, I declare Dr. Alex Otti as the winner of the governorship primary election.”

Speaking after he was declared winner of the primary election, Otti commended the delegates for the confidence reposed in him to fly the party flag in the upcoming 2019 general election.

He urged his teeming supporters to remain steadfast as the primary election was the first hurdle towards winning the election in 2019.

Speaking shortly after the primary election, the member representing Umuahia south constituency in the Abia House of Assembly and APGA chieftain, Hon. Chijioke Nwachukwu thanked the leadership of the party for a transparent exercise.

He also expressed confidence that come 2019, APGA will emerge victorious.
