A chieftain of the Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has said Nigeria will break up if not restructured.
Adebanjo expressed shock at the differences in opinion shared by President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on restructuring.
He spoke at the ‘Handshake Across Nigeria summit titled: ‘Nigeria beyond oil’, organised by Nzuko Umunna and The Core Federalists, which took place in Lagos yesterday.
Adebanjo said, “It is unfortunate that both President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo do not understand each other as regards restructuring.
“I do not know why the Vice President, who is a Professor of Law, does not know what it entails
“If you do not restructure, the country would break up.
“If you say that the unity of the country is non-negotiable, then you do not have a choice than to restructure.”
