2019: Abia Deputy Speaker, Ndukwe warns PDP against imposition.

The Deputy Speaker of Abia state House of Assembly, Dr. Cosmos Ndukwe has charged his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to jettison the idea of selfish imposition of candidates as 2019 general election draws close in the interest of the party and the people.

Speaking to newsmen on Monday in Aba, Abia state on the possibility of his party returning to power in 2019, Ndukwe believed that PDP had learnt its lessons from its failures in the 2015 election and had set up strategies that will make it win in 2019.

He said, “Yes, I think they have learnt their lessons. PDP need any this point in time,to jettison selfish imposition of unpopular candidates. Imposition where it is not selfish, party’s can have their instructions and avenues. But let it be an imposition that would be of good to the party.”

“I’m looking forward to a very reburst and vibrant 2019 election. With the strategies we have now, if well apply, PDP will bounce back in 2019”.

Ndukwe threw his weight behind the National Assembly on the reordering of 2019 INEC elections timetable.

“If the national Assembly has the constitutional right to oversight INEC, they equally have obligation to make adjustments that would help the commission perform their duty. I align myself with the stand of the national Assembly”.
