2019: 1000 PDP, SDP members dump parties for APC in Delta

About one thousand members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as well as the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Saturday dumped their parties and joined the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State.

The PDP decampees said they have seen the light.

The decampees dumped their parties at the official-flag off of the campaign for the Delta State House of Assembly by Benjamin Okiemute Essien.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, a former Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture, at Omode Primary School, Irri in Isoko South Local Government Area, Hon. Godwin Esugo, said they dumped the PDP because of its “oppressive nature”.

Hon. Esugo said they were determined to work for the success of the APC in the general elections.

Hon. Benjanin Okiemute Essien used the event to declare his intention to contest the Delta State House of Assembly Constituency I Seat.

According to Essien, ” You will recall that I was at the State House of Assembly from 2011-2015. As a first member of the house, I was able to sponsor three bills.”
