Former Nigerian star, Garba Lawal has stated what Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel and Chelsea ace, Victor Moses must do to help Nigeria cross the group stage at the World Cup.
Lawal said Mikel and Moses must be at their best for the team to excel at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Mikel and Moses have struggled to make much impact for the Super Eagles in their last two friendlies against England and Czech Republic which they lost 2-1 and 1-0 respectively.
Lawal reckoned that the two players must up their performance in Russia.
“Mikel and Moses did extremely well in the qualifiers and they will be crucial to whatever the team will achieve in Russia,” Lawal told CSN.
“I think they struggled a bit against Czech Republic and England, but they have enough time to hit top form before the first game against Croatia.
“If they hit top form again, I think the Super Eagles will be tough to beat for any team at the World Cup.”
Nigeria will face Croatia in their first Group D game in 5 day’s time at the Kaliningrad Stadium.
