Former Jamaican sprinter and 100-metre world record holder, Usain Bolt, has backed Lionel Messi-led Argentina to win the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
According to Bolt, he will be supporting the Albiceleste at this year’s summer’s tournament which kicks off on Thursday.
The eight-time Olympic champion, however, admitted that Messi can lead Jorge Sampaoli’s side to victory for the first time since 1986.
“For me, I’m an Argentina fan, “Bolt was quoted by FourFourTwo magazine.
“I think we have a good chance if we play good, then we should have a good chance of making the finals and even winning.
“I’m looking forward to just watching the World Cup and seeing the great teams.”
Bolt also expects to see plenty of goals in Russia, adding that the World Cup will be one of the best ever.
“Brazil? I’ve seen Neymar’s back. He’s scored two goals since he’s been back.”
“He’s proving that he’s one of the best and this is why I’ve told people that this World Cup will be one of the best World Cups.
“It will be very competitive and I think there’s going to be a lot of goals this year so I’m just going to enjoy it, just like you guys.”
Argentina are in Group D of the 2018 World Cup alongside, Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria.
